EBBA Architects has created a temporary building as a public project to provide skills to residents in East London.
The project is located around the Olympic Park and is designed to relate directly to the activities on the site in celebration of the beauty of making as a public project that provides valuable skills-based learning to local people. It highlights the capacity of architecture to change an area by way of creating a lively building for radically simple means.
It was created as an innovative, sustainable and low-cost solution to cladding three repurposed cabins on a prominent corner plot, to be built in two phases and later disassembled to become furniture and planters for other projects around the Olympic Park.
This project has been longlisted in the small building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
