Deerfield has created a smart case solution for effective birth control that combines style and function.

The design of the smart case and pill tracker app has been created to address the dual challenge of removing the stigma pitfalls of using birth control, while also adhering to a strict medication timetable.

The case with linear grooves and pleasing colourways is no bigger than an iPhone (more than 100 different sizes and shapes of pill packs were trialled to fit), and has a rotating clip to ensure the pills stay put in order to work with the technology.

The corresponding app sends reminders for getting, taking and tracking the pill, enabling users to take control in style.

This project has been longlisted in the product design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
