Industrial Facility has collaborated with British radio company Pure to design a standalone radio with simple control and usability.

Evoke Play is a radio that works with all three existing radio platforms – analogue, DAB and the internet – to provide simple control and usability to the listener. After selecting a radio station from its pop-up screen, one of the pre-set buttons can be set and the screen then closed away, leaving the on/off volume and selection buttons as the only visible elements.

The design's simplicity of function is furthered by its physical presence that sees a recycled fabric speaker placed front and slightly angled, with an LED indicator incorporated into the volume control. The housing uses a moulded resin that is lighter, with a front grill made from Kvadrat's new eco-certified and recycled wool Atlas fabric.

This project has been longlisted in the product design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
