Hollaway Studio designed the F51 Skate Park in Folkestone, UK.
This project was designed as the world’s first purpose-built multi-storey skatepark in Folkestone, as part of a major ongoing programme to regenerate the seaside town.
Featuring three levels of high-quality skateparks, a boxing gym, cafe space and the tallest climbing wall in the southeast of England, this landmark building embeds extreme sports – usually banished to the outskirts – into the heart of town.
It is a central hub for youth culture, building confidence and providing independence through mobility. By prompting us to push physical and mental boundaries, F51 Skate Park not only facilitates thrills but also adds to them.
This project has been longlisted in the cultural building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
