Craig Tan Architects has designed Flow Yoga in Canberra, Australia.
This project at the Dairy Road Precinct allows visitors to experience a greater sense of interconnectedness with their bodies, the environment, and the community.
Engaging the visitors' senses, the studio is conceived as an ensemble of sensory episodes providing a balanced interplay between intimate treatments and communal yoga sessions.
A village-like composition of nested volumes offers an experiential counterpoint between communal gathering spaces and intimate spaces of respite.
Realised on an extremely economic budget, and using sustainably sourced plywood, cork and stains, the studio has been extremely well received by the greater community.
"Flow Yoga continues our ongoing exploration into building memorable experiences that help forge vibrant communities," commented Craig Tan Architects.
This project has been longlisted in the leisure and wellness interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
