HWLJ Studio has produced a residence in China where spatial definition is key to creating playful ambiguity.

The project is a multifunctional space within which elements of ambiguity are introduced to serve the needs of the household.

While it provides an ideal model of blending home and office, it also showcases the setback as as the best viewpoint in the property, taking in the infinite lake view and the distant mountains as a reference.

Design touches are calm and restrained, allowing the space to be employed for any number of uses including relaxation, social entertainment and deep meditation.

This project has been longlisted in the house interior category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
