Salty Architects has designed the Gordon Gallery in Jerusalem, Israel.
This project was an industrial space in Jerusalem’s religious neighbourhood that has been given new life and transformed the neglected workshop into a light-drenched space while retaining the rugged history of the building.
The designers, Salty Architects, dismantled the old facade and replaced it with transparent glass, resulting in a wide-open corridor that runs along the length of the entire building.
The interior has been designed as a circular space, allowing a surprising and continuous movement in the space – while the gallery has a distinct presence in the industrial area, illuminating visibility from a distance.
This project has been longlisted in the civic and cultural interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
