Cierto Estudio has designed Hotel Mothern in Barcelona, Spain.

This project is a reborn 64-bedroom boutique hotel in Barcelona's city centre, where the striking use of colour became the main design instrument, making every combination unique to the usage of each space.

Cierto Estudio's intervention preserves the 19th-century original facade while accomplishing a low-cost and time-restricted refurbishment, achieving a total transformation of the interiors without changing the existing floor plan.

The bold chromatic use in the amenities provides a youthful and contemporary touch while contrasting with the more elegant and intimate tones that are found as visitors progress from common areas to private rooms.

This project has been longlisted in the hotel and short-stay interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
