XXXI has created a dreamlike setting for a pastry shop in Portugal.

The project is located in Lisbon, in what was formerly a small dark shop. The contemporary space features clever use of elements and materials seen elsewhere in the city's long-standing local businesses, such as azulejos tiles, hydraulic mosaic and stainless steel, all re-imagined to fit the pastry showroom and bakery's needs. The result is a series of colourful, textured and dreamlike details set against a neutral background to best bring them to life.

The façade, a collaboration with the young artist kr.us, allows people to drink a coffee and grab a bite while having a peek into Juliana Penteado's dreamy pastry world.

This project has been longlisted in the small retail interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
