Mario Tsai Studio has created a modular lighting solution inspired by scaffolding structures on construction sites.
The design is a continuation of the flexibility of the Mazha lighting system, using its low voltage and modal qualities to develop them with inspiration found in the calm warm light from urban construction scaffolding.
The result is a modular luminaire system that embodies a sense of upward unfinishedness and extension.
The straight lines formed at 90 degrees to each other can grow infinitely in three dimensions, while the lighting tubes become part of the building blocks to create huge light and airy forms unobstructed by wires.
This project has been longlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
