Begum Studio has created a site-specific outdoor installation as a new addition to London's public art walk, The Line.

The work is a vibrant array of colourful mesh clouds that float above the central pathway in Botanic Square at London City Island, creating a shifting canopy of colour and form that cast dappled shadows on to the floor below.

Inspired by the reflections of light and shadow on water, the installation responds to the landscape of London City Island and the River Lea that flows around it.

It is curated by The Line, joining 19 artworks in a trail that travels along the waterways of East London. The commission is designed to be part of a journey – a means through which participants are invited to discover new areas of London and reconnect with their surroundings.

This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
