Louis Poulsen has created new from old with clever use of upcycled materials to produce a unique lamp in homage to the classic 1958 design.

PH 5 Retake is a unique lamp with a raw finish, made using minimal resources from vintage and new PH 5s otherwise shelved due to reasons of crooked shades, irregularities or dents.

The transition process from a vintage or an imperfect model to a one-of-a-kind PH 5 Retake sees the removal the paint from each pendant, allowing the aesthetics of the aluminium shades and the lower steel shade to emerge. After the removal of the paint, the pendant is then fully retrofitted, upgrading it with the latest technology. Coating the PH 5 Retake with a dry lubricant to protect the metal parts completes the upcycling process.

The result is a new, dynamic and upcycled product that brings a classic design into a new era.
