Tom Fereday Design and Rakumba have collaborated to create a unique reversible table and wall light collection that explores the refractive properties of cast crystal glass.

The collection is intricately cast from solid crystal glass housed in a brass base, allowing each piece to be reversed simply by flipping the glass body to provide two varied moods and light interactions.

Through exploration into the refractive nature of the material, the solid glass obscures all evidence of the light source, resulting in an abstract sculptural glowing form. Each piece is made from solid machined brass and raw cast glass celebrating the natural patina and finish of these two materials, representing the increasingly sophisticated design and manufacturing capabilities occurring within Australia.

This project has been longlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
