Atelier Deshaus designed the Qintai Art Museum in Wuhan, China.
This project, as an architectural intervention, has redefined the urban public space by the Moon Lake of Wuhan.
The undulating roof combines the function of the museum with public landscape and urban activities – while creating a unique space for exhibition with great functional flexibility.
The floating exhibition walls challenge the fixed circulation for visiting the exhibitions, acting as both surfaces for exhibiting and the structure for the roof.
The ramped paths along the rooftop connect to different spaces – one, in particular, leads to the south bank of the encapsulating Moon Lake.
This project has been longlisted in the cultural building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
