Panorama Design Group has created a cultural concept bookstore in China.

The project is located in the open atrium space of a shopping mall in Foshan, and is designed to create a haven of calm amid the hustle and bustle of city life. It brings together areas of interest such as reading, cultural creations, coffee, parent-child and social activities.

The entrance hall has a roof made of wooden slats, hanging high in the sky like an open book in the shape of a herringbone. From here a multifunctional 100-seat open-plan theatre extends, while beyond a retail zone, a family zone and a cafe sit ready to welcome customers.

This project has been longlisted in the large retail interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
