Measured Architecture has produced a minimalist home in Canada where collaborative craftsmanship creates a deceptively simple family space.
The project is located in Vancouver, and was conceived and created as a gathering space to offer its owners and their two children a respite from the pull of their daily lives.
It is a deceptively simple space that uses volume, structure, light and colour to create both efficiency and warmth. Measured Architecture worked closely with local tradespeople and subcontractors to draft, workshop and produce holistic building solutions. This work is evident in the mastery of details, from the custom millwork to the precise metal work of the steel staircase, and in the careful use of materials including wood, glass, concrete and steel.
The result opens to reveal a vibrant energy that facilitates an intense appreciation of family connection.
This project has been longlisted in the house interior category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
