DWA Design Studio has produced a distinctive space for the fourth floor of a department store in Italy.
The project is located in a department store designed in the 1960s by Franca Helg and Franco Albini, and encompasses the fourth floor dedicated to womenswear and lingerie.
Here, rusty red and milk green colours predominate in the palette. Russet tones set the atmosphere across a ceiling set out with an orthogonal grid structure, while verdant hues soften the space with wavy screens made of perforated metal tubular sheets that enclose the area dedicated to lingerie.
Solutions aimed at attention to the environment, such as display tables and plinths made in grey recycled resin board by GeesRecycling, were seamlessly incorporated as alternative materials to stimulate the dialogue about sustainability in interior design.
This project has been longlisted in the large retail interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
