Yan Zhou has designed the Seminar in a Fruit Shop exhibition in Shanghai, China.

This project works around the concept of "From Workshop to Fruit Shop" where designer Yan Zhou created a seminar setup within the space.

"There are countless new design briefs around the world every year asking for another 'innovative' version of an existing product," said Yan Zhou. "How can design continuously create relevancy in our time?"

With this in mind, Zhou undertook curatorial research and designed an exhibition inside a fruit shop to explore opportunities and challenges in sharing ownership of design during her Fellowship in Design Curation with Design Trust/Royal College of Art.

The result was Seminar Setup in a Fruit Shop, a space to invite the public to experience and discover design ideas in an everyday setting, nonetheless full of life.

This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
