ARCity Office has created a sky bridge and scaffold as a public space in a historic abandoned building in Shenzhen.

The project is located in Shajing Ancient Fair, an ancient village with a thousand-year history sits in the remnants of an abandoned building formerly home to a vegetable plot. It forms part of a rejuvenation project which aims to revitalise the village as a response to population changes.

Shajing Ruin Garden encompasses a sky bridge and a six metre high scaffold – originally designed as a temporary exhibition facility, it was not demolished after the exhibition but kept permanently as part of the village's public space system due to its high popularity among the residents.

This project has been longlisted in the small building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
