Unseenbird has created a space for a container farming company in South Korea that employs elemental inspiration within a forward-thinking scheme.
The project is a container farm that uses IT and data technology to produce crops. Meaning 'plant and planet', its name sees it envisioned as a virtual star between Earth and Mars, reflecting the idea that the crops can be cultivated in space.
The choice of materials reflects this ethos. Stainless steel was selected to highlight the artificial environment, and is advantageous for maintaining cleanliness. Similarly, the floor finished with red tiny pebbles is a contrasting colour to green, and draws on the red sand of Mars as inspiration. Based on this story, red and green were used to compose the space, and materials such as acrylic were changed within the same colourway to add interest.
This project has been longlisted in the small interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
