O&O Studio has designed an art installation with REhyphenation as a community engagement project in a Hong Kong neighbourhood.
Siu Kai Fong is a community engagement art installation that acts as a reflection of the neighbourhood's daily usage of the causeway in North Point, Hong Kong. It showcases a rich tapestry of the neighbourhood's past for the present.
It captures the historic district's personal narratives through oral histories and repurposed furnishings gathered from local households and businesses for visitors to experience a piece of the past, compiled as an urban living room and public space with floor graphics inspired by colourful tenement heritage patterns.
This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
