Enter Projects Asia Co. has designed Spice & Barley in Bangkok, Thailand.

This project is an ultra-modern restaurant that showcases a billowing rattan structure seeking to embrace and invigorate innovation and eco-awareness.

"In our signature style, we see a hybridisation of 3D technology and Thai traditional craft," said designers Enter Projects Asia Co. "The natural and renewable rattan unfurls over a sprawling 9m-high space with digitally-generated structures and the Bangkok skyline as its backdrop."

The site overlooks the Chao Priya River and the natural rattan structures act as twin towers, referencing the high-rise towers in the backdrop. The vast geometries flood the ceiling in an uninterrupted balustrade of twists and turns which bounce the light and become a beacon from far away.

In line with the original brief, the design sensibilities at Spice & Barley are intrinsically Asian-fusion – a phenomenal marriage of ideas, creating a space in which you innately sense that the client and designers have understood one another perfectly.

This project has been longlisted in the restaurant and bar interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
