Dark Architects has created a sustainable office building in Norway that showcases innovative timber construction techniques.

The project in Drammen is a 10-storey building, born as a result of an environmental design process which innovates in timber construction.

The structure consists of a transparent base which contains a restaurant, co-working areas and meeting rooms, and has extensive use of double-height spaces. Inside, the architectural focus has been to bring timber to the forefront of the space, in turn leading to new usage of an insulation product which provides fire safety.

This project has been longlisted in the business building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
