Elton Leniz Arquitectos Associados has designed the Su Vertical nos Retiene in Parque Bicentenario Cerrillos, Chile.

This project sustains itself in the landscape of Chile, both geographical and human, and the immersive energy of its extreme nature. Su Vertical nos Retiene is an installation of 16 slender vertical steel structures on a circular platform placed on a mirror of water to reinforce this notion.

By bringing together the profiles of the peaks and situating them vertically in Los Cerrillos Metropolitan Park, an intersection is produced with the view of the Andes mountain range – entering into a dialogue at the confluence of horizontality and verticality.

The Andes mountains hold vigil memory as an irrefutable witness and, through its tectonic plates, obligate us to remain alert. It is an ecosystem in resistance with which we identify – in terms of landscape and territory – marking a symbol of its own poetics.

Originally designed by Fernando Prats in collaberation with Ámbito Cero, this project was made a realty by Elton Leniz Arquitectos Associados and Cruz·Mandiola.

This project has been longlisted in the landscape project category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
