Natureza Urbana designed the Terminal and Urban Park in São Luís, Brazil.

This project is the result of many actors’ efforts in the renovation of a central area in São Luís that had been suffering from degradation and abandonment – in terms of infrastructure, public safety and the quality of collective spaces.

In 1997, the historical centre of São Luís was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This setting was responsible for the increase in demand for public measures to preserve and value the patrimony.

Terminal and Urban Park in São Luís aims to enhance collective activities and public engagement in the management of the park, renovating public spaces and connecting visitors with the urban fabric.

This project has been longlisted in the landscape project category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
