J.C. Architecture has created The Moving Kitchen in Taiwan as a restaurant to meet aesthetic and gastronomic needs.
The project is a 54-person moving restaurant set in an old train salvaged from retirement. It has a full-size kitchen, bar, lounge, and two-person and four-person dining arrangements, and was designed in homage to the country's long-held historic love of train travel following strong national reaction to the 2019 unveiling of modern tourism trains.
Created for the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA), the project offers a unique railway dining opportunity emblematic of the country and its people.
This project has been longlisted in the hospitality building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
