BLCK has created a tranquil retreat for a city centre home in Cairo.

The project provides the energy and tranquility akin to that of a second home, amid the fast pace of Egypt's capital city.

Neutral colours and exposure to natural lighting throughout were key in creating a deceptively simple scheme. The grand dome in the living area acts as a central focal point, and is covered with hand-painted patterns that carefully break the minimalistic feel in a manner that fits with the flow of the house.

These elements combined result is an interior that allows for complete disconnect from the business of the world outside its front door.

This project has been longlisted in the house interior category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
