Soar Design Studio has created a sense of calm and quiet for a residence in the mountains in Taiwan.

The project embraces the mountain view at this striking property with a design that highlights the connection between indoors and out.

Different vertical and converging spaces link the interiors both with people and the outdoors to merge with the view, all the while creating a fluid and diverse space to facilitate human connection.

The spatial configuration is created to resemble trees, with each space extending to grow upwards and outwards like a branch still fundamentally connected to its roots. The vertical axis breaks the flat spatial design, while split-level platforms, shared, middle and corner break the stratified style of the duplex building.

This project has been longlisted in the house interior category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
