Diamonos Design has designed Yi Yan Jiu Yin China Bohea in Xiamen, China.
This project is located in Xiamen Ferry Terminal, separated by a river from Gulangyu Island. The architectural design idea comes from yachts, where at first sight, the reception area is built in micro-cement with deep curvature, light and shadow – just right for the purpose while extending its artistic tension.
The designers use flexible modelling language, such as balls, arcs, and mirrors, to outline the agile and graceful temperament of the space. The shape of water permeates into the details – an interesting experience where people feel as if they are on an abstract water surface but not actually seeing the water.
The light and shadow interlace in the space, which deduces the micro-cement material and streamer and how they complement each other. The style of the space is divided between yellow and grey – one side is the deep sea dreamland, while the other side is warm and fashionable.
This project has been longlisted in the leisure and wellness interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
