Chrissa Amuah
British-Ghanaian designer Chrissa Amuah is founder of the luxury homeware and interiors brand AMWA Designs.
Amuah has collaborated with international brands including automotive company Lexus, footwear brand Allbirds and furniture brand Bernhardt Design, as well as US museum Detroit Institute of Arts.
Amuah's work has been featured at international design fairs including Design Miami, the London Design Biennale and Milan Design Week and has been showcased in publications such as Elle Décor, Departures magazine, Architectural Digest, the FT’s How To Spend It and Casa Vogue Brasil.
In 2017 Amuah established Africa By Design, a showcase of the best African designers. She mentors and promotes designers throughout Sub-Saharan Africa and has staged exhibitions in five cities across four continents.
Amuah was invited to represent Ghana at the London Design Biennale 2021, creating a pavilion inside London's Somerset House with architect Alice Asafu-Adjaye. Following the success of the Biennale, she was named as one of House and Garden magazine’s top 100 Designers shaping the world of contemporary design. She has since gone on to join the magazine as a contributing editor.
