Rooshad Shroff

Mumbai-based Rooshad Shroff is founder and director of eponymic studio Rooshad Shroff Architecture and Design.  

In 2011, Shroof founded his private practice focusing on artisanry and high-end luxury. He celebrates Indian artisans applying their craft and techniques to modern aesthetics, such as marble carving from Jaipur, woodwork from New Delhi and embroidery from Lucknow.

He has gained international recognition having showcased projects at several exhibitions, including India Design, Raw Collaborative, London Craft Week 2019 and Ambiente 2019. Since 2013, French fashion label Hermès has also commissioned the studio to design their window displays in Mumbai and Delhi.

In 2017 Shroff was named designer of the year in India, one of GQ's most influential young Indians and one of Hello! Magazine's most powerful young Indians in 2020. He is also an Indian ambassador to Maison et Objet and recipient of multiple awards including the Elle Décor International Design Award (EDIDA), NDTV Architecture and Design Award, Institute of Indian Interior Designers Award and Good Homes Award.
