Sabine Marcelis
Dutch artist and designer Sabine Marcelis runs a self-named practice based in Rotterdam harbour.
Marcelis began working as an independent designer within the fields of product, installation and spatial design with a strong focus on materiality. Her work is characterised by pure forms which highlight material properties.
She collaborates with a range of industry professionals including commercial clients as well as fashion houses, using material research and experimentation to achieve what she considers to be new and surprising visual effects.
Marcelis won the Wallpaper* Designer of the Year in 2020, the 2019 Design Prize for Newcomer of the year, the Elle Deco International Design award 2019 for Young designer of the year and the International Artist prize for GQ Men of the year 2019.
