Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay
Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay are co-founders of London-based design and research studio Raw Edges.
In 2007, the pair founded their practice after graduating from the Royal College of Arts. Mer and Alkalay transform everyday objects into playful and inventive furniture, product, interior and installation designs.
Raw Edges have collaborated with international companies including Vitra, Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney, Airbnb, Established & Sons, Moroso, Cappellini, Kvadrat, Mutina, Golran and Caesarstone.
Notable awards include AW 2020 Designers of the Year, Designers of the Future by Design Miami/Basel, Wallpaper Design Award, iF Design Award and Elle Decoration International Design Award.
Their work has been acquired for permanent collections at international museums, including the MoMA in New York.
