WilkinsonEyre's redesign of Battersea Power Station transforms the historic site into a 42-acre estate on the banks of the River Thames in London.
With the iconic Grade II* listed Power Station at its heart, the estate features 46,000 square meters of offices, 254 apartments and 100 shops, restaurants and bars.
The power station, initially created by architect Giles Gilbert Scott in the 1930s, now has retail and dining on lower floors, while former turbine halls house multi-level shopping arcades.
Restored control rooms have been tuned into event spaces while the power station's central boiler house is now home to Apple's office space. The 254 apartments are crowned by rebuilt chimneys – one housing a forthcoming panoramic visitor attraction.
This project has been longlisted in the mixed-use project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
