Medprostor has headed up the exhibition design of the BIO27 Super Vernaculars in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

"Walls, planes, piles and lines of firewood are a part of the Slovenian visual landscape, as almost 59 percent of the country is forested," said Medprostor.

In the exhibition design for BIO27 Super Vernaculars, the 27th Biennial of Design, logs are used as modular, stackable elements.

The scenography explores the aesthetic potential of raw traditional material implemented in simple but surprising ways, creating a spatial intervention that embodies the topic of the biennial and foregrounds circularity.

By only using the standard logs and non-invasive stacking and binding methods, all the material was returned to the supplier for further resale and use.

This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design (interior) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
