De Winder Architekten has designed the new Carlsen Publisher Campus in Hamburg, Germany.
In an industrial building complex new offices were completed for the Carlsen children's and young adult book publisher.
"A big challenge of the project was the conversion of the heterogeneous hall buildings into an efficient office environment that would fulfil the publisher's specific requirements," said De Winder Architekten.
The new space is part of the future publisher campus currently in development – where previously the focus was on industrial production, the publisher's employees work there now.
"The goal of the cautious interventions was to leave the old usage of the halls visible, while at the same time, providing space for the new usage," added De Winder Architekten.
This project has been longlisted in the workplace interior (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
