COS has in-house rebuilt and redesigned its own sustainable Biblioteksgatan store concept in Stockholm, Sweden.

The new, more sustainable store concept adopted by its Biblioteksgatan store strives to showcase a creative concept, designed according to the circular economy principles.

"By featuring a number of more sustainably sourced materials and fittings, our CO2 emissions are minimised while extending the interior’s lifecycle," said COS.

Through the use of endlessly recyclable material and by reallocating existing shop fittings, the unique store design was developed by COS designers with a sustainable built environment in mind.

A rebuild of an existing store, Biblioteksgatan became the first in Europe and the biggest in COS’ portfolio to adopt the more sustainable store concept.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable interior category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
