Elly Ward and Joe Morris of Morris + Company have designed the Edit restaurant in London, United Kingdom.
Edit is a low-impact, hyper-seasonal restaurant that sets out to challenge traditional thinking and wasteful practices in the food industry.
The restaurant was designed by its founder, Elly Ward, a former architect-turned-restaurateur, in collaboration with her husband Joe Morris of multiple award-winning architecture practice, Morris + Company.
Occupying space in a former Victorian warehouse building on Mare Street in Hackney, shared with Morris+Company, the restaurant interiors are an exercise in adaptive reuse and minimal intervention, showcasing sustainable materials, methods of slow construction and concepts of circular design.
"[The design] reflects Edit's founding principles and approach, while avoiding green and eco cliches," said Morris + Company.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable interior category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
