Grimshaw has collaborated on the project Elizabeth Line in London, England.
Underpinning passengers’ positive experience of the Elizabeth Line, a consortium of Atkins, Grimshaw, Equation and Maynard has created a suite of interior finishes for stations and tunnels that includes cladding, flooring, platform screens, seating, wayfinding and lighting.
Drawing on the expertise of its multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers and product designers, the components introduce a consistent look and feel to the central London stations.
"From seamless curved cladding to the technology of the wayfinding totems, applying this line-wide design approach creates a consistent journey from above ground to below, and ultimately, a new travel identity for London’s underground railway infrastructure," said Grimshaw.
This project has been longlisted in the infrastructure and transport project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
