CarverHaggard has redeveloped Greenhill Place in London, United Kingdom.
Greenhill Place is the transformation of a backland car park into a new square for Harrow, complete with food kiosks, a play space, an art display, and facilities for markets and events.
The cranked green building creates a colonaded edge to the square, hosting food kiosks for local food businesses, a covered seating area for diners, and a large shop window for displaying local artwork.
A red circular play area surrounded by 10 new trees is at the centre of the public space – with a grid of brass markers defining a trail, and a terrazzo welcome mat facing onto the high street.
This project has been longlisted in the civic project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
