Dessin Technisch has designed the new office, Macropolis, for Layher in Lima, Peru.

Layher, one of the world's largest scaffolding manufacturers, commissioned Dessin Technisch to design its new offices.

The order included the reuse of prefabricated steel structures from its previous building, as part of a corporate culture of efficiency that resonates with the studio's philosophy.

Inside, these structures shape the railings and stairs. Outside, the curtain wall façade is clad in scaffolding. These, in turn, have been designed as large planters from which grows vegetation that, over time, will give more life to the steel.

As a result, the studio proposes a green oasis in the middle of an industrial area and an arid landscape.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable building category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
