Objects of Common Interest has collaborated with Gamec to create Lights On.

Lights On is a site-specific installation for Bergamo's Piazza della Libertà, as part of the city's Italian Capital of Culture 2023.

The intervention is based on a theme of 'Reactivate/Reuse/Repair' that unfolds through three interventions that both celebrate and disrupt the space.

The installation begins as a large-scale illuminated sculpture that reactivates the existing monumental architecture; public seating from reused marble offcuts and recycled resin is scattered around the plaza and atop a platform made of recycled tyres.

All three elements activate this public space and renew this otherwise desolate location by inserting an element of exploration into it.

This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
