PILLS has created the Living Together – 9th Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism / Architecture (UABB) Opening Ceremony installation.
Living Together is a sphere assembled by nine groups of large lantern installations, where the shape of each lantern is based on the cone at the bottom of the brewery's fermentation tank, covered with patterns of land, plants and animals.
The opening dance performance was accompanied by dancers who brought together the 'petals' scattered around the venue.
The process of convergence echoes the theme of this year's UABB – the harmonious coexistence of all living beings.
In addition, the gathering of the nine 'petals' also expresses the symbiosis and friendship between the cities of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
