AtMa has developed the two-floor Maison Special / Prank Project shop in Fukuoka, Japan.
This project is a unique shop where two brands, Maison Special and Prank Project run by Play Product Studio, coexist within one two-floor building.
Based on the characteristic of Fukuoka's location and historical background, brands with different characters were placed on the first and second floors respectively, with the aim of attracting people and becoming a hub of goods and people with diverse elements in a multilayered city.
In a building originally used as a restaurant – with a large atrium and impressive natural light pouring in through the triangular roof skylight – the first floor was designated for Maison Special and the second floor for Prank Project, providing a sense of the identity of each brand.
This project has been longlisted in the retail interior (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
