VATRAA has created the Monument Against Plastic Pollution.
"The monument questions the legacy the current generation will probably leave to the next ones," told VATRAA. "Some plastics last up to 1,000 years in landfills while others might never biodegrade."
The monument is there to remind humans of the consequences of their actions in the long run – that what we do today might stay on Earth forever.
"Taking the shape of one of the oldest and most simple forms of structure inherited from our ancestors, the installation poses a stark contrast between the disposable material, the plastic and the eternity of its shape, the trilithon," added VATRAA.
This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
