MVN Arquitectos has developed the net zero Ecoalf store in Madrid, Spain.
This project is the first commercial space for Ecoalf, a sustainable lifestyle brand neutral in CO2 emissions.
Starting from the eco-design approach and using the geometry of the building – two cubic volumes almost twinned, of very different heights – the architects sought a solution that used the ceiling as an element of continuity, taking advantage of the existing openings to incorporate them with the intention to the space.
"For this, we used a cladding that is not only a ceiling because it also extends along the walls to wrap the entire space linking the lower area with the highest," said MVN Arquitectos.
This project has been longlisted in the retail interior (small) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
