Asif Khan has designed the Plastics: Remaking Our World exhibition in Dundee, Scotland.
"This exhibition is a call to action which charts the unparalleled rise, ubiquity and the destructive power of plastic," said Asif Khan.
Through a series of immersive spaces, visitors are confronted with the material that defines the Anthropocene.
These experiences include a multiscreen artwork, a diorama of waste objects collected from local beaches, a future-facing laboratory, and a classroom for hosting workshops for local schools.
"Our design tested the hypothesis of eliminating plastic use in institutional space, replacing it with alternate, often overlooked materials that could be repaired, reused, easily recycled, or degrade naturally, whilst offering the resilience required of a touring show," added Asif Khan.
This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design (interior) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
