Carter Williamson has redeveloped Rosso Verde in Gadigal Country, Australia.
This project is an alteration to an existing warehouse conversion in Gadigal Country in Camperdown.
"Rosso Verde is quality over quantity personified," said Carter Williamson.
In an area where space is at a premium, this project rejects the prevailing notion that bigger is always better.
Instead, by preferring a large green garden over the undefined space of the old warehouse, the focus shifts to the quality of each room and the abundant natural light that the new garden brings into the home.
By removing close to a third of the roof, the built fabric has been carved away to create a central landscaped courtyard – with new windows and doors bringing sunshine and fresh air.
This project has been longlisted in the house renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
