Tongji University has designed RuiXue Multi-hall within China's expansive Agricultural Expo Park
Spanning more than 1,000 square meters, RuiXue Multi-hall will host exhibitions, agri-tech conferences, forums, concerts and fashion shows.
Tongji University's design manoeuvres around reserved trees, aiming to reimagine boundaries into a seamless and unobstructed linear flow.
The design team addressed a range of factors including gravitational forces, material strength, structural parameters and shell curvature to conceptualise the multi-hall's composition and structure.
RuiXue Multi-hall's distinct shape, for example, was generated through shell form-finding to optimise construction methods.
This project has been longlisted in the cultural project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
