2050+ has conceptualised and developed the permanent exhibition room of Søylerommet – The Pillars at the National Museum in Oslo, Norway.
Søylerommet – The Pillars room is a permanent exhibition space within the new National Museum in Oslo hosting temporary shows featuring pieces from the Fredriksen Family Collection.
The Pillars challenges traditional ideas of a static exhibition space – one in which art is consumed passively by inviting visitors to question the object-to-subject relationship, unlocking infinite possible configurations and turning visitors into active and performative agents within the museum's galleries.
"The Pillars is not about staring, but about engaging – and, by engaging, rethinking our role and agency in negotiation with contemporary cultural institutions," said 2050+.
This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design (interior) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
